Gaillac

The Gaillac region is located about 50km northeast of Toulouse on the river Tarn, at which point the river is navigable all the way to the Atlantic and was once a centre for Roman wine production. The Mousseux Method Gallacoise is slightly sparkling, white or rosé and goes through a one time fermentation.

Examples of sparkling wines in the Gaillac region are shown below:

(However, buying from the UK is difficult.)

  • Gaillac Mousseux Method Gallacoise

  • Gaillac Mousseux Methode Deuxieme Fermentation

  • Gaillac Perlé (Perlé indicates a slight bite, tiny bubbles in the wine)

  • Gaillac Method Ancestrale (Mauzac grapes, 10% alchohol)
